wtfpdf is a PDF engine written in Rust and compiled to WebAssembly. The page ships the engine and your browser runs it. There is no server that receives your files.
Your files stay on your device
A file is read into memory and processed in a worker in this tab. The result comes back to you as a download. Nothing is sent anywhere.
Works offline
After your first visit the app and the engine are cached. Switch off your network, reload, and every tool still works. Make searchable works offline once it has downloaded its text recognition files.
No account, no generative AI, no cookies
There is nothing to sign up for and no page limit. wtfpdf uses no generative AI, sends nothing to AI services and sets no cookies. Make searchable reads text with a small recognition model that runs on your device. We count page views and tool use with no way to tell who you are, and never see your files. The privacy page lists exactly what is counted.
One engine
A single Rust library parses, edits, encrypts and writes every file. There is no JavaScript PDF library behind it.
