How to remove blank pages from a PDF

  1. Drop your PDF on the box above, or choose it from your device. wtfpdf checks every page and marks the blank ones.
  2. Pick a Sensitivity of Strict, Normal or Lenient. Click any page to mark or unmark it yourself.
  3. Select Remove pages. The PDF without those pages downloads to your device.

Questions

Is my PDF uploaded to find the blank pages?

No. Every page is checked in this browser tab, and the result is saved straight to your device. It works offline too.

Does it find blank pages in a scanned PDF?

Yes. It looks at how each page is drawn, so a scanned sheet of blank paper with specks, a shadowed edge or a punched hole still counts as blank.

What do the sensitivity levels mean?

Strict marks only pages with nothing on them. Normal also marks pages with a few stray marks or a page number alone. Lenient also marks pages with one short line, such as "This page intentionally left blank".

Can I check the pages before they are removed?

Yes. Nothing is removed until you select Remove pages. Show only pages to remove narrows the grid to the marked pages, and you can unmark any of them.

Why was a page not marked as blank?

A page that could not be read or drawn in full is always kept, to be safe. The page shows the reason, and you can still mark it yourself.

Can I remove blank pages from a password protected PDF?

Yes. wtfpdf asks for the password first, and the saved PDF keeps the password and permissions of the original.

Can I split a scan at blank pages instead?

Yes. Choose At blank pages in the Split tool. It cuts the PDF into separate files wherever a blank separator page appears.
